CAVEAT
I have to reiterate that I am not an expert in this subject. But, I would like to share with you my observations, assessments and views as a concerned Indonesian citizen viewing a very important event and its implications of the Indonesia’s path towards democracy.
My assessments are based on my readings of the media reports about the campaign as well as the polling and the process of vote tallies that is still going on until a week or so from today. I have been consulting reports from studies and surveys conducted by different institutions, also assessments and analyses by pundits. In other words I wouldn’t claim any originality, except for one or two personal views, which I would mention in my intervention.
