Mrs. Poesposoetjipto graduated in 1974 from Munich University of Technology, Germany,
majoring in Electronic Engineering specialized in Computer Science. She
began her career at Soedarpo Corporation which was founded 1952 by her
father Soedarpo Sastrosatomo as the Manager of Soedarpo Service Bureau,
selling integrated computer services to third parties. While she was
acting as the Coordinator of Corporate Finance and Administration an as
well as the Coordinator of Computer and Communications Business in
1985-1988 Shanti led the reengineering process within Soedarpo
Corporation to focus its business in Information Technology and
Distribution of Pharmaceutical products. In in her capacity as
Executive Vice President she enabled Soedarpo Corporation to move
towards its IPO in 1990.
In August 1997, PT. Ngrumat Bondo Utomo (NBU) acquired the Information
Technology Business of Soedarpo Corporation, and Shanti has been
assigned by NBU to oversee the operational management of all
Information Technology related Business owned by NBU under the Soedarpo
Informatika Group. Today she oversees all businesses owned by NBU.
PT Ngrumat Bondo Utomo (NBU), is the Investment Holding Company of the Soedarpo Family, which is also among others one of the major Shareholders of PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk, PT Samudera Indonesia Tangguh and PT Asuransi Bintang Tbk.
She
also holds key positions in a number of professional organizations and
non-governmental organizations, giving emphasis to her concern for
Management related issues as well as
social-environmental and cultural issues.
Shanti L. Poesposoetjipto is married. She loves sport (particularly golf, hiking and tennis), nature, art, music and culture.

She is a Partner at the Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia as well as a member of the Governing Board of the Partnership for Governance Reform in Indonesia. Governing Board Member of the Indonesian–Netherlands Association, Council Member of the Singapore-Indonesia Chamber of Commerce.
In
her capacity she has acted as a speaker, panelist and as a guest
lecturer at various seminars, conferences as well as educational
institutions in Indonesia, ASEAN, Japan, Australia, Canada and the USA,
covering topics such as "Information Technology Environment in
Indonesia from a Business Perspective", "Trade & Investment
Potentials In Indonesia", "Managing the Impact of Information
Technology", "Management & The Trend of Information Technology",
"Leadership and the Computers", "Concept of Telecommuting", "IT
Development & Its Interaction with Human Resources",
"Digitalization and the Global Communication" and "Impacts of
Information Technology on the Business Development in the ASEAN/Pacific
Region". Is Indonesia ready for e-Commerce.
In November 2002,
she won the Women Inspire 2002 Award for IT aimed at empowering women
across the Asia Pacific Region, an event co organized by the Women's
Business Connection (WBC),Singapore.
While Samudera Indonesia Group out of 100 Top Groups in Indonesia is quoted as number 35, the recent GLOBE Asia Magazine October 2007 & 2008 edition, quoted Shanti as number 14 out of 99 Most Powerful Women in Indonesia.
